APPEARANCE: River would stand approximately 4’10", if she ever stood up straight and proud. Instead, she supports her weak and meager frame with a sturdy longspear, which has seen very little action in battle. Her jet-black hair is roughly medium-length, lying just above her shoulders. Aside from slight scarring along her neck and arms which visibly shows on her pale skin, little suggests that she is more accustomed to the wilds than the city. Her tattered green hooded cloak covers an ornate yet functional set of leather armor, and a carved wooden token tied to some frayed twine rests upon her neck. All in all, she would appear more at home in the slums of a sprawling city constantly seeking refuge from its dangers instead of adventuring cross-country risking life and limb for gold.
Her most unusual trait is her violet-colored eyes. Despite her nervous personality, her eyes seem to pierce through those that look into them, so much so that people have begun to call her ‘The Violet-Eyed Witch’.
PERSONALITY: River is skittish and wary, much like a cornered rabbit in a cage. A kind soul with a good heart, she would help those in need where she can. In the heat of battle, she becomes scared and frightened, often finding cover and hiding while putting her faith in those with more courage than her. Despite having lived in the wilds for years, River is rather wise and intelligent… if only she had more faith in herself.
HISTORY: When asked about her past, River mumbles under her breath and shuffles her feet, obviously nervous. Smiling weakly, the young woman assures you that she had lived by herself in the Dales, with only her wolf as her sole companion. However, an astute observer can tell she is hiding something else, but is unwilling to divulge that information to just anyone.
On the subject of her wolf companion, River perks up a bit. Moro, as she is called, has always been with her as long as she can remember… well, almost. Always guiding and protecting her, Moro has been like a surrogate mother to River. Her parents, like many adventurers, died from a bandit attack on the road, leaving her an orphan in the wilds. Lost and alone, she found herself among a wolf pack and raised as their own. Her small and weak frame never allowed her to truly hunt alongside them, but she did her best to soothe and care for the pack.
When asked about why she began adventuring, River quickly becomes quiet. Moro suddenly appears close to the girl’s side, staring through you. River slowly scratches the wolf behind the ears, soothing the wolf’s demeanor a bit. Finally, she replies, “I… I don’t know.”
Leaving you more confused than before, River walks away to leave you to your thoughts.
